In this clip of the TV drama Shameless (see the link /\) I have studied the mise - en - scene:
Clothes worn:- Most of the clothes worn in the scene are bland, cheap and well worn looking, indicating that they do not have alot of money to spend on clothes.
Props used:- Frank Gahlager has a cigaret in his mouth which in this circumstance is funny as he has to take it out in order to give another character the breath of life to save him, and the fact that he still carries on smoking it after the life threatening event shows carelesness.
Setting/Location:- The location is inside a pub but the setting has been made to look very scrubby, dirty and unclean which ties in well with the clothes the characters are wearing.
Lighting:- The lighiting in the set is an orangy yellow with hazy smoke from peoples cigarettes. It adds to the dirty feel of the set.
Actors:- The acting of the main character in this scene is very comical due to the facial expressions he uses and his mannerisms. His speech is slightly slurred also.
